Project Background
The City of Mandurah has responded to growing interest from individuals and community associations to develop a community garden in Mandurah. The City recognised that community gardens play a significant role in strengthening local communities. Community gardens are being developed across Australia as they continue to demonstrate the positive health, social, environmental and economic impacts they have on communities.
Site Location
Mandurah Community Gardens is located on the property of Coodanup Community College.
The garden is adjacent to the car park on the southern side of the College off Coodanup Drive (look for the big sand coloured shed / undercover area)
Project Status
The community garden project has been endorsed by Council and its development is well underway. The vision of the group is to develop and maintain a garden that brings all kinds of people together to grow, learn and enjoy
Project Management
The project has initially been managed by the City of Mandurah and the Mandurah Community Gardens Working Group. The group consists of an officer of the City of Mandurah and community volunteers. It is envisaged that by June 2013 the garden group will become incorporated and self sufficient
