BlueCrab Stormwater Program

Everyone can help to protect our waterways by remembering that the 'drain is just for rain'. The City of Mandurah's Blue Crab Stormwater Education Program is a community awareness program that encourages students to protect our natural waterways.

The program is designed to help students understand the importance of managing stormwater in urban areas and preventing pollution reaching our waterways. The drain stenciling activity promotes community awareness about stormwater issues. The Blue Crab Program includes resources and information for teachers and students to use in the classroom and during an excursion. The activities are designed in booklet format for lower, middle and upper primary age students and are available for use as printable booklets or in electronic form.

Quandong Park in Seascapes is an example of Water Sensitive Urban Design. The park is an attractive, usable recreation area that also manages local stormwater and is suitable for self-guided class excursions.
