Being part of a club and participating in physical activity helps build happier, healthier and connected communities. There are over 100 clubs and community groups operating in Mandurah that provide a range of activities from traditional sports, to active recreation pursuits including paddling, walking and cycling, and passive activities such as bridge, bingo, and crafts.
They are not-for-profit groups and are run by dedicated volunteers. Voluntary work is an enormous source of social capital and contributes directly to the growth and development of social networks and social cohesion in our communities.

The Recreation Service staff are available to assist sport, recreation and community groups to promote and help their club grow. Assistance can be offered for:
- Establishing a new club
- Managing and governing clubs successfully
- Developing a plan for the future
- Planning for facilities
- Sourcing and applying for grants
- Fundraising and sponsorship
- Planning events
