The City and Ac-cent Mandurah are proudly hosting the 2012 Connecting Seniors event at the Ac-cent centre on Friday, November 16 from 9:00am – 4:00pm.
Seniors from the Peel Region are invited to this free event which promotes community engagement, networking and has a strong focus on seniors being proactive about their health and wellbeing.
Connecting Seniors is being held as part of Seniors Week celebrations from November 11-18.
As well as great food and entertainment, a number of community groups and service providers have been invited to exhibit at the event to engage with Ac-cent members and the wider seniors community.
The stalls and exhibits will feature a range of useful information about health and wellbeing, active ageing, making new friends and exercise and much more. There will be a questionnaire and prize draw, diverse entertainment, fun activities and ‘have-a-go’ sessions including a Repercussions drumming workshop, a nutrition presentation by Helen Frost and a seniors’ art exhibition and craft stall. The day will culminate in a grand finale concert by Jay Weston.
Seniors are encouraged to come along and take part in this great day.
Ac-cent Mandurah is at 41 Ormsby Terrace and there is plenty of parking available. Call 9550 3799 for more information.
