Lakes Memorial Park Public Cemetery
The Lakes Memorial Park Public Cemetery is a lawn cemetery for the memorialisation of loved ones. This uniquely Western Australian development provides the peace and beauty appropriate for family tributes and reflection. Lakes Memorial Park Public Cemetery is also lovely parkland for public enjoyment. Public visitation and enjoyment of the Lakes Memorial Park Public Cemetery is encouraged.
Each gravesite at the Cemetery has the capacity to receive up to four (4) interments with a maximum of three (3) burials, for example: three (3) burials and one (1) cremation OR two (2) burials and two (2) cremations.
Customers wishing to reserve a grave or niche site at the Cemetery may do so upon application and payment of the prescribed fee, the customer may select this site. A Grant of Right of Burial will be issued following payment of that fee.
The tenure of all graves and memorials is twenty-five years. The Consolidated Local Laws for the Lakes Memorial Park Cemetery stipulate that the term of a grant may be extended for a further term of 25 years for the expiration of the initial term if the Council so agree and upon payment of the prescribed fee.
Mandurah Public Cemetery
The Mandurah Public Cemetery is located on Cemetery Road and is a closed Cemetery.
New burials are not permitted at the Mandurah Public Cemetery, the only internments that can take place at the cemetery are of those persons who have pre-approval or, if a member of the family has been buried at the Mandurah Public Cemetery.
Should a "new" interment be requested, the burial could proceed if approval has been received from the Minister for Local Government, should no approval be received, no burial can take place.
The Mandurah Public Cemetery allows for two internments per gravesite in any combination at the Cemetery, and ashes can be interred under the concrete plinth.
Purchase of Bronze Memorial Plaques
Families wishing to arrange for the placement of bronze plaques on either a gravesite, niche wall or for a ground niche can do so by arranging an appointment with one of the Cemetery Officers at the Administration office. Flowers and Memorials
The Lakes Memorial Park Public Cemetery has been designed as a lawn cemetery and, as trustee; the City of Mandurah is responsible for ensuring that the area is maintained to a standard that is consistent with this overall design.
Families may express their sentiment by placing a bronze plaque at the site as a permanent memorial for their loved one. Flowers may be placed in the receptacles provided at the site, and fresh flowers may also be laid upon the gravesite to commemorate significant dates such as birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. An authorised officer at the Cemetery will remove all withered flowers on the Friday of each week and all faded artificial flowers on the last Friday of each calendar month.
Visitors are reminded that the placement of other items, including vases, statues, pots and other types of memorial items are not permitted without the prior written approval of an authorised officer at the Administration office.

Fees and Charges
The fees for the Lakes Memorial Park Public Cemetery are reviewed on an annual basis, usually in June of each year. Therefore, quotations provided may be subject to change.
Entrance to the Cemetery
Entrance to the Cemetery is restricted between sunset and sunrise. The Cemetery is open between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm daily and is generally staffed between the hours of 7.00am to 3.00pm, Monday to Friday.
