The Mandurah Community Museum seeks to serve its community by being a leading local museum of social and urban history in Western Australia. The Museum collection is displayed in themed galleries that are constantly undergoing development, dealing with People, Industry, Recreation and Environment within Mandurah and surrounding areas. The Local Studies Collection consists of photographs, documents, reports, oral histories and newspaper articles that are accessible to the public for research purposes.
All ages will love the beautifully restored Dalrymple schoolroom, Mandurah’s first Government School, built in 1898. The building was extended to house the town's police station in later years, and the courthouse and cells can still be visited today. You’ll also see a life size model of the unique and enormous Megamouth shark that was washed up on the Town Beach in 1988.
Volunteers are most welcome within the museum. For further information please contact the Museum Development Officer on 9550 3681.
