4WD Access Beaches
4WD ACCESS BEACHES
Only 4WD vehicles licensed under the Road Traffic Act are permitted only on the beach foreshore from Tim's Thicket and Whitehills to the southern district boundary.
No motorbikes, quad bikes or dune buggies are permitted. Please observe the signs at the entrance.
No vehicles are permitted in the dunal system. Community volunteers spend many hours placing protective brushing on the dunes as part of environmental preservation and revegetation projects.
Driving in the dunes damages plants and native vegetation, causing soil erosion which then encourages the spread of weeds.
Please contact Ranger Services for access points or temporary closures of the beaches due to severe weather conditions.

Off-Road Vehicles
Although recreational off road bikes are increasing in popularity in the district, the City is unable to provide any location suitable for their use.
Mandurah’s rapidly increasing population means that many residential areas now surround all available land and it is certain that residents would not appreciate the noise generated by off road recreational vehicles, should such an area be approved within close proximity of their homes.
Motorbikes and trail bikes cannot be ridden in non-designated areas or on undeveloped private land anywhere in Mandurah because….
It is illegal within the district unless riding is undertaken on private property with the owner’s permission.
There are no designated off-road vehicle areas within the district of Mandurah and riding trail or quad bikes
on any public area or reserve is prohibited under local laws. Breaches could result in a fine of $200.

Reserves and Foreshores

The City is proud of its reserves and foreshores where many volunteers work tirelessly to repair and preserve these fragile areas for future generations.
Rangers and Volunteer Ranger Liaison Officers patrol these areas regularly in an attempt to prevent needless damage.
No unauthorised vehicles are permitted on reserves or foreshores except at designated areas.
