Safety and Wellness
Creating a safe working environment is a priority for us in delivering high quality services for our community. To do this we have enhanced OSH legislation by implementing our own policies and procedures to guide our people safely through their working days.
We will achieve our goals by working together, communicating openly and honestly, and having mutual respect for each other. Our efforts have been recognised by independent auditors who awarded the City with a Gold Certificate of Diligence. We are very proud of this achievement and constantly strive to improve our performance.
We have also introduced a number of initiatives to promote individual wellness and encourage a healthy lifestyle for our people. Examples of this include skin cancer checks, flu vaccinations, lifestyle assessments, an employee assistance program and subsidised memberships at the City's Recreation Centres.
