Firebreaks and Fire Prevention Measures

Fire prevention measures must be completed and all properties (including residential and vacant land) cleared of fire hazards on or before 17 November to reduce the risk of fires during the bushfire season.

Advice on how to protect your home and when, what and how to burn is available from Ranger Services or your local Fire Control Officer.

For more information click on the following link to the Mandurah Fire Notice.

IMPORTANT!
Permits are needed for all Fires,
including incinerators

Fire Permits

Fire Field

Outdoor burning within Mandurah requires a permit – including incinerators.  Properly flued solid fuel barbecues can be used, but not on days of very high or extreme fire danger.

Fire permits can be obtained from Ranger Services 5 Pinjarra Road, or your local Fire Control Officer.   Fire permits are free, however you must apply in person and be in attendance at the fire at all times.

Effective 10 January 2003, penalties for breaches of the Bush Fires Act 1954 and Regulations have increased.
