Community Assistance Grants Scheme

 

Community Association Fund Round 2: 2011/12

 

Is your community group looking for financial assistance for an upcoming project?

The City of Mandurah invites local community groups to apply for grants through the Community Association Fund, Round 2: 2011/2012.

Funding is available for projects that:
• Increase community participation and involvement within City of Mandurah boundaries
• Develop the skills of community associations and volunteer based organisations

The Community Association Funds are contributions to assist incorporated, not-for-profit community groups to deliver projects.

This round there is a total pool of $20,000 available to local groups, with two grant streams:

(a) One-off funding for community projects or events (Grants up to $1000): Associations applying for this grant can only receive funding once per financial year and only for different or new projects.

(b) Recurrent funding – Co-contribution grants (Grants up to $500): Associations are required to fund 50% of the project’s cash contribution. This grant suits associations that provide the same community event or project every year.

CAF applications must be received before 4:30pm on Friday, 16 March 2012 

 

Partnership Fund (Grants over $1000)

 

The key aims of the Partnership Fund are to: 

1.  Increase community access to essential programs and services through the development of partnerships between the City and non-profit community organisations.

2.  Provide assistance to non-profit community associations with the capacity to assess community need to develop essential community services or programs, which are consistent with The City of Mandurah’s strategic objectives and programs but not directly operated by the City.

 

The Partnership Fund can provide recurrent funding for up to three years with supporting documentation such as a Strategic and/or Business Plans. A meeting with one of the City's Community Development Officers is a pre-requisite before applying for this funding. Arts and Cultural Development Grants Program

 

The City of Mandurah’s Arts and Cultural Development Grant Program involves one-off contributions to assist arts, cultural and community groups in Mandurah to foster skills development and participation in arts and cultural activities in our community.

 

Projects considered for funding:

  • A community arts/cultural project managed by the applicant that will develop the skills of the community or increase their participation in the arts or cultural activities – including materials, equipment and professional arts worker fees.
  • A skills development project for members of the applicant’s group – including materials, equipment and professional arts worker fees.
  • For established arts/cultural organisations with a proven track record a yearly program of diverse activities can be applied for under the one application (please adapt form). A contribution to the administration costs may be included in this application. Please note though that it may not be possible to provide funds for the whole program. The applicant must demonstrate it has or is seeking funding from a number of other sources to deliver this program.
  • A project that promotes the value of the arts such as exhibitions, arts directories, web pages. 

The Arts and Cultural Development Grant Program is open in September 2011.  Applications must be received before 4.30pm on Friday, 14 October 2011.
