Avalon Beach

Avalon Beach commences from the Avalon Foreshore Reserve at the end of Yeedong Road in Falcon and stretches down the coast to Avalon Point in Wannanup. The southern end of Avalon Beach is a popular location for surfers. To assess the southern end of Avalon beachfront parking is available at two locations on Westview Parade in Port Bouvard. 

The stretch of swimming beach can be accessed via numerous pathways along Avalon Parade or two carparks off Burna Street or Yeedong Road in Falcon. The north is also linked to the south via a network of pathways that commence along Avalon Parade and then weave through the dunes.

Any organised events such as surfing carnivals must be booked through Recreation Services at the City of Mandurah so appropriate approvals can be given.

Blue Bay beach

Blue Bay Beach is located on Halls Head Parade in Halls Head.  The beach receives low ocean waves averaging less than a metre.  Good access and beach views are provided along Halls Head Parade.  There is a car park, toilets and access at the southern end where Leighton Road joins Halls Head Parade.

The facilities include:

  • Swimming beach ideal for children to body board/surf
  • Toilet/Shower facilities
  • Beach fishing

Doddi's Beach

Doddi's Beach is the local name for the beach along the Halls Head Foreshore. It is a north facing beach protected by the point which is the reason why it is usually calm. 

 

The foreshore reserve has facilities that include:

  • Swimming beach
  • Pontoon offshore in summer
  • Reef area ideal for exploring or snorkelling at high tide
  • Picnic & BBQ facilities
  • Shady grassed areas
  • Children's playground
  • Protected from southerly winds

Falcon Bay beach

Falcon Bay consists of two adjoining beaches.  It is the southern end where Spinaway Parade intersects with Thera Street that the most popular swimming area is located.

 

 As one of Mandurah’s few north-facing beaches, Falcon Bay is a popular recreation area for water-based activities, including swimming and fishing. The Bay is flanked by coastal dune vegetation, grassed recreational areas, a children’s play area, barbecues, picnic shelters, and toilet and change room facilities.

Marina South Harbour Beach

Also referred to as The Lido Beach this area is popular for families with young children and visitors to Mandurah as it adjoins the Keith Holmes Reserve and is linked to the Mandurah Ocean Marina by a large footbridge.

Facilities include:

Melros Beach

Melros beach is a 1.3km beach backed by the Melros Reserve. Access is via a carpark located at the end of Melros Beach Road.

Facilities include:

Pyramids Beach

Pyramids Beach is located in Dawesville and access is via Southport Boulevard in the Southport Estate. It commences just south of the Dawesville Channel and stretches 1.4kms south to Florida. The beach is popular for both surfers and swimmers. One section is patrolled by the Port Bouvard Surf Life Saving Club founded in 2004 and it is recommended that swimming occurs during patrol times and inside the patrol area. A path weaves through dunes along the coast for the whole stretch of the beach and is ideal for walkers and cycling.

San Remo Beach

      The northern end of San Remo Beach is the site of the Mandurah Surf Life Saving Club.  The beach extends from the Wade Street groyne where is it called Watersun Beach due north for 4km.  Access is via a car park on Eros Place or via the surf club on Orestes Street.

 

      Facilities include:

  • Swimming beach
  • Picnic area
  • Playground and halfcourt basket ball
  •  BBQ facilities
  • Fishing
  • Surfing and body boarding
  • Caution - large dumping waves sometimes present
  • Great parking close to beach
  •  Surf lifesaving activities and patrolled beach at designated times

Silver Sands beach

Silver Sands Beach extends from the first groyne at the Henson Street Reserve, 1.6km past one central groyne to the next major rock groyne in Silver Sands. Pathways can access the beach along Ormsby Tce which runs the length of the beach. The southern end has facilities for parking and picnicking whilst the northern end is popular for fishing.

Town Beach

Town Beach is located in Central Mandurah and access is via Dolphin Drive in the Mandurah Ocean Marina. Turn right past the Dolphin Pool to find the car park overlooking the most popular swimming area.

Village Beach is a man-made beach located on Batavia Avenue, Wannanup. It is an ideal location for all sorts of recreational activities including swimming, paddling and stand up paddle boarding. The beach is sheltered and located on the Batavia Reserve.
