Cemeteries within the City of Mandurah
The City of Mandurah manages two cemeteries, the Lakes Lawn Cemetery and the Old Mandurah Cemetery.
Lakes Lawn Cemetery is a lawn cemetery for the memorialisation of loved ones. This Western Australian development provides the peace and beauty appropriate for family tributes and reflection. Lakes Lawn Cemetery is also a lovely parkland for public enjoyment. Public visitation and enjoyment of the Lakes Lawn Cemetery is encouraged.
Flowers and Memorials
The City of Mandurah, as the trustee of the Lakes Lawn Cemetery, is responsible for ensuring that the area is maintained to a standard that is consistent with this overall design.
Families may express their sentiment by placing a bronze plaque at the site as a permanent memorial for their loved one. Flowers may be placed in the receptacles provided at the site, and fresh flowers may also be laid upon the gravesite to commemorate significant dates such as birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. An authorised officer at the cemetery will remove all withered flowers on the Friday of each week and all faded artificial flowers on the last Friday of each calendar month.
Visitors are reminded that the placement of other items, including vases, statues, pots and other types of memorial items are not permitted without the prior written approval of an authorised officer at the City's Administration Centre at 3 Peel Street, Mandurah.
Entrance to the Cemetery
Entrance to the cemetery is restricted between sunset and sunrise. The cemetery is open between 7.00am and 5.30pm daily and is generally staffed between 7.00am to 3.00pm, Monday to Friday.
