Council

The City of Mandurah is a local government authority serving the needs of more than 61,500 residents. Offering a range of diverse services and facilities to the community, Council seeks to enhance the lifestyle, business and tourism opportunities for the people of Mandurah.

The City of Mandurah is led by 13 Councillors, including the Mayor, all elected by the community. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is appointed by the Council to manage the day-to-day running of the City.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is Council's most senior officer. Mr Mark Newman was appointed CEO in May 2003 after ten years with the City of Mandurah.

The City's vision of Mandurah is, "Vibrant City: Innovative, Creative and Diverse".

A Community Charter and Strategic Plan for the years 2005-2008 has been developed with the challenges of the future in mind. Its design focuses on four fundamental requirements for the City's success:

    Protection of our environment, sustaining the essence of Mandurah.

People:

    High levels of community participation and quality of life, including access to services and opportunities.

    Intergrated and regional planning occurs across all areas.
