The idea for a new corporate logo emerged as a result of a number of benchmarking activities undertaken in 1995. It was apparent that a new corporate symbol was required to enhance the City of Mandurah's desired image as that of a progressive forward thinking municipality. As it was to be used to represent the operational activities of the Council it was important that such a symbol projected a friendly, more contemporary image.

The adopted symbol reflects the City's future vision of incorporating new technology, the changes in the corporate world of finance, tourism, and the service it provides to the citizens of Mandurah. Additionally, it takes into account the main aspects of Mandurah and its environment and it is considered the symbol will be able to sustain its relevance into the future.

This symbol shows the Mandurah community in a modern, strong, simplistic way that will impart the atmosphere of the area by instant recognition. Perhaps with a feeling of relaxation, leisure and holiday enjoyment.

The objective is to put forward an up to the minute idea of Mandurah and the pursuits that Mandurah has to offer such as recreational and cultural activities, along with its beautiful beaches and waterways.
