Each time you take a stroll around a park, drive along the road, or wait at a bus shelter within the City of Mandurah, the Council's Works and Services directorate is serving you.

Works and Services is responsible for the planning, construction and maintenance of the City's engineering needs, which includes the roads, stormwater drainage, parks and street lighting in your area.

Our Works and Services team looks after the following:

  • Bus Bays and Shelters

    Construction and maintenance of bus shelters.
  • Canals

    The ongoing management of artificial waterways and canal estates in association with resident groups.

    Jetty applications require joint approval with the Department of Transport.

  • Coastal Management

    Investigations, recommendations and civil works associated with coastal management including erosion, accretion, vegetation, pathways and dune stabilisation. Community participation is encouraged with land based solutions.
  • Council Buildings

    Maintenance of buildings within the City including the Library, MARC Centre, sporting pavilions, public toilets, community halls, beach steps and Central Business District cleaning. Maintenance extends to the removal of graffiti and security of public buildings. A 24-hour emergency service is provided throughout the municipality.
  • Crossovers

    Please contact us for information and sheets on specifications and subsidies.
  • Drainage

    Planning, design and installation of stormwater drainage systems as well as maintenance of existing stormwater drainage systems, including sumps.  If you have a stormwater gully outside your residence or business that needs to be cleaned out, please contact the City on 9550 3777.
  • Shared Paths

    Repairs and new works associated with shared use paths.
  • Kerbing

    Repairs, patching and new works.
  • Parks and Reserves

    Planning, design and installation of new reserves and ovals as well as maintenance of existing parks, play equipment, weed control, reserves and ovals including sporting facilities.
  • Public Access Ways

    Maintenance of Public Access Ways.
  • Road Closures

    Responsible for permanent closures and temporary closures for road works. Temporary closures for events are dealt with by Mandurah Police.
  • Road Reinstatements

    Road reinstatements including potholes, rutting, cracking, flushing, polishing, stripping, pitching and delamination.
  • Road Safety

    Implementing schemes and programs aimed at reducing crashes, injuries and deaths on the road network.
  • Road Works

    Planning, design and construction of the Mandurah road transport system.
  • Signs

    Responsibility for traffic and street signs is shared with Main Roads WA.
  • Street Lighting

    Maintenance of decorative street lights. Alterations to existing street lighting.
  • Street Trees

    Watering and maintenance. Community tree planting.
  • Traffic Management

    Monitoring and investigation of traffic needs within the City to ensure a safe, convenient, sustainable transport system.
  • Verge Trees

    Free provision of two verge trees per property on application. Also provides advice on the legal implications of neighbouring trees.
