Crossovers

Crossovers

The crossover is the part of your driveway between your property boundary and the City’s road. It is the landowner's responsibility to construct and maintain the crossover. The City will subsidise the landowner for a portion of the cost for construction of a standard crossover (single).

Applications

Application forms are available from the City of Mandurah, Administration Office, 3 Peel Street, Mandurah or available in the 'Forms and Information Sheets' box at right.

Crossover Subsidy

If the crossover is a first vehicle crossing constructed to the premises, the City will contribute towards the cost subject to the crossover being constructed to the City’s specification. Application for a subsidy payment must be made on the prescribed form within 6 months of the date it was constructed and is to be accompanied by proof of payment (invoice or delivery docket).

The City will pay a subsidy of $16 per square metre toward the cost of one standard residential crossover and $28.50 per lineal metre toward the cost of one standard industrial crossover per property upon application, provided such application meets the specifications.

Second Crossover

Upon application, the City may approve a second crossover to any property, subject to the compliance of the above specification, however no subsidy is applicable.

Repairs to Crossovers

A request to repair a Crossover must be made on the prescribed form. Please complete and return the form and an inspection of the crossover will be carried out by the Cityworks Maintenance Supervisor. Following inspection, an estimated cost for the crossover repairs will be forwarded to the property owner. If the property owner wishes to proceed with the crossover repairs, payment of the estimated cost of repairs (less the City subsidy – if applicable) must be paid to the City prior to the works proceeding.

Crossover repairs must be undertaken if the driveway is considered unsafe.
