Council Elections
In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 (and related Regulations), an Ordinary Election is held every two years on the third Saturday in October.
The Mayor and Councilors’ are elected for four year terms, with half of the Councilors’ terms concluding at each biennial election.
The 2013 Local Government Ordinary Election, to be held on Saturday, 19 October, will see a Mayoral vacancy and six Councillor vacancies, representing four wards.

The City of Mandurah has appointed the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) to conduct the 2013 Election. The Commission appoints a Returning Officer who oversees the elections which includes taking candidate nominations and supervising the count on election night.
