Want to Ask at Question at a Committee and/or full Council meeting?

In accordance with the Local Government (Administration) Regulations, at each Committee meeting a minimum of 15 minutes is available for Public Question Time. During Public Question Time, members of the public and Elected Members are given an opportunity to ask a question of Council about an issue concerning the meeting at which it is asked.

The City promotes the practice of questions being supplied in writing a day or so in advance of the meeting, particularly if a detailed response is desired, as this provides officers with the opportunity to fully address the question at the meeting. If you are able to provide advance notice of your question, please complete and submit the Public Question Time Form that can be accessed by clicking here. A guidance note is contained with the form to help you with its completion.

If you are unable to provide advance notice of your question, you can still ask it at the meeting and officers will make every attempt to provide you with a full response. If a response cannot be provided to you, your question will be 'taken on notice' and a written response sent to you once the necessary research has been undertaken; this response will also be included in the next agenda for that meeting.
