GET READY FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE IN MANDURAH
The City of Mandurah and local business sponsors have again come together to provide a great family night out for the annual New Year’s Eve celebrations starting at 6.00pm.
Activities will include face painting, pony rides and amusements while the popular YOH Fest Youth Zone will feature the Fly Wall, Mechanical Surfboard, Circatron and Gladiator Duel for an especially exciting night on the foreshore.
Two popular bands, Chain Reaction and The Divas, will perform on the main stage with Chain Reaction will take to the stage at 6.30pm to perform classic hits from the ‘60s followed at 8.40pm by The Divas who are sure to get people dancing.
Mandurah Chief Executive Officer Mark Newman said he hoped this year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations would be great fun for all the community.
“Both the eastern and western foreshores will once again have a high police presence this year under an operational agreement between Mandurah Police and the City to reassure families wanting to enjoy New Year celebrations that they will be safe,” Mr Newman said.
“City Rangers would also like to remind dog owners to secure their dogs during the fireworks, but if any dogs do escape during this time please contact the City of Mandurah on 9550 3777 to report missing dogs.
“On behalf of the City, I wish everyone in the community a happy, safe and prosperous New Year.
Mandurah Terrace will be closed from Pinjarra Road throught to Cooper Street between 5.00pm on December 31 and 12.30am on January 1.
