TRAFFIC REVERSAL ON MANDURAH TERRACE FROM JUNE 4
For southbound traffic, there will be no right turn from Mandurah Terrace on to the Old Mandurah Traffic Bridge, for northbound traffic no left turn from the Bridge on to Mandurah Terrace, and no right turn for westbound traffic from Pinjarra Road on to Mandurah Terrace.
Phased openings of the implemented road closures for the Mandurah Terrace Traffic Reversal will take place between 7.00am and midday on June 4. Council staff and additional security officers will be assisting traffic flow during this time.
Motorists are asked to avoid using the Old Traffic Bridge if possible on Wednesday, June 4, especially with the possibility of other rescheduled road works to be carried out on Leighton Place north of the Mary Street roundabout.
Advance notification signage is in place on the Old Coast Road, east and west of the Old Mandurah Traffic Bridge, and on Leslie Street to advise motorists of the road works and closures in this section of the city centre.
On Tuesday, June 3, lanes on Pinjarra Road were closed for the Mandurah Terrace Traffic Reversal works from midday to 6.00pm because heavy plant was on site to remove a light pole from the traffic island in Pinjarra Road and reinstate asphalt on to the road.
From 6.00pm on June 3 to 7.00am on June 4, the Old Traffic Bridge was closed, Pinjarra Road closed east of the Mary Street roundabout to Sholl Street and Mandurah Terrace closed between Tuckey Street and Pinjarra Road.
Over the past month, City of Mandurah road crews have been carrying out preparation works for the Mandurah Terrace Traffic Reversal which is being implemented to help improve traffic flow in the Mandurah CBD.
Leading up to this time, it has been necessary to partially close Pinjarra Road between Mandurah Terrace and Sholl Street and to close Mandurah Terrace between Tuckey Street and Pinjarra Road at various times so that works could progress.
