DIVERSE PROGRAM MARKS LIBRARY AND INFORMATION WEEK
Mandurah Mayor Paddi Creevey said Mandurah residents would be hard-pressed not to find at least one event that appealed to them.
“There’s such a wide range of interests represented in the program, which is spread between Mandurah Library, Falcon eLibrary and Community Centre and the Dawesville Mobile Library Stop, that the challenge will be choosing which one to leave out,” Mayor Creevey said.
Mandurah Library will share digital photography tips and tricks, introduce kinesiology, jewellery making and the life of Daisy Bates, and demystify Carbon Credits, plus leading researcher Belinda Cannell will uncover the life of Perth’s Little Penguins.
Toddlers haven’t been left out as they can enjoy National Simultaneous Story Time with Minister for Peel and Mandurah MLA David Templeman, and Teddy Bear Tales.
At Falcon e-Library and Community Centre, the workings of the world’s most popular marketplace, eBay, will be explained, and anyone can come along to the launch of the library’s weekly Preschool Story Time.
‘Arthur the Dog’ by Amanda Golden, the book chosen for National Simultaneous Story Time this year, has also been picked for Dawesville Mobile Library Stop’s Story Time at 3.30pm on Wednesday May 21.
Bookings are essential for all programs for adults and places are filling up fast. For further details and bookings contact Mandurah Library on 9550 3650, email manlib@mandurah.wa.gov.au or Falcon eLibrary and Community Centre on 9550 3230, email elibstaff@mandurah.wa.gov.au.
