REINVENTING ROBERTA TAYLOR

27-11-2008
Mandurah Library attracted 145 people to its latest Writers in the Library series to listen to a talk by respected actress and accomplished author Roberta Taylor about her first novel ‘The Reinvention of Ivy Brown’.

A star on the popular BBC TV productions The Bill and Eastenders and a member of the Glasgow Citizens Company, Ms Taylor visited Mandurah on November 18 as part of The Sunday Times Big Book Club monthly selection.

Ms Taylor signed more than a 100 books following her talk and was only too happy to pose for photos with avid watchers of The Bill in which she plays Inspector Gina Gold and Eastenders in which she played Irene Raymond.

Her first book ‘Too Many Mothers’ was a critically acclaimed and bestselling autobiography that was released in 2005.

The Reinvention of Ivy Brown is a tale of love and betrayal in the freezing winter of London in 1963.

Mandurah Library’s monthly ‘Writers in the library’ talks are usually held on Thursdays at 2.00pm with the next one in the series scheduled for February.  For more information, contact the library on 9550 3650.
