For many years we have provided opportunities through apprenticeships, traineeships and cadetships. We offer you a chance to kick-start your career right here in Mandurah.
As a trainee, apprentice or cadet you will receive hands on experience under the guidance and assistance of experienced mentors. You will also receive support in developing your personal skills to broaden your career opportunities in the future.

When completing an apprenticeship you will work full-time for a four year period where you will be provided with an opportunity to learn all aspects of your chosen career and while you learn on the job, you will attend off-the-job training at a TAFEWA college.
Apprentices currently work in areas such as Horticulture, Carpentry & Joinery, Automotive, and Painting & Decorating.
A traineeship at the City of Mandurah is a full-time employment-based training arrangement that leads to a nationally recognised qualification. The traineeships are for 12 to 24 months and during the course of a traineeship with Council, under the guidance of a training provider, you can gain experience and have the opportunity to learn new skills.
Trainees currently work in areas such as Information Technology, Business, Conservation and Land Management, Library and Information Services, Tourism, Community Recreation and Childcare.
A cadetship involves working full-time at the City of Mandurah where you will be provided with an opportunity to learn all aspects of your chosen career by qualified and experienced officers. During the four year term you will attend a TAFE or University institution and upon successful completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
Cadets currently work in areas such as Town Planning, Civil Engineering and Surveying.
