Planning Services

Functions and responsibilities

Planning Services prepares plans and polices for the future growth of Mandurah and assesses proposals for new development under the requirements of state government legislation and planning requirements.

Applications for planning approval are assessed against State Planning Policies and the Council’s local planning scheme and policies, planning strategies and structure plans.

The Planning Services section is responsible for the following applications:

  • Application for Planning Approval
  • Subdivisions and survey-strata applications
  • Outline Development Plans
  • Precinct Plans
  • Amendments to Town Planning Scheme 3

Should you wish to discuss a proposed development, you are encouraged to contact the City’s Planning Services section on 9550 3748 to arrange an appointment. The Planning Officers can assist with advice on what information is required and explain the assessment process. Appointments are available from 8.15am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. 


Application for planning approval

A completed Application Form to be submitted with any application for Planning Approval together with the relevant application fee. The application form outlines the information that is to be provided. Other written information that you feel would help in the consideration of the application should also be provided together.
