Mandurah Readers and Writers Festival

The annual Mandurah Readers & Writers Festival aims to bring readers together with authors and engage in conversations around books. The festival is pleased to present established and upcoming WA Authors in Author Talks, Panel Discussions, Meet the Authors and at the Annual Pyjama Party.

Each month we work on a new project and by Christmas you will have a collection of gifts for family and friends, made by you!. Check out the calendar to find the next event!

Digital Hub

The Digital Hub provides assistance and training with technology in a variety of regular activities. Learn how to use your computer, laptop, tablet, smart phone and more. Training is done in small groups, or you can book a one on one session to specifically address your needs. 

Library Knitters

Bring your knitting needles and hooks and join the Library Knitters for a relaxing afternoon of sharing skills and afternoon tea.

Heartfelt Sewing

The group meets to work on hand sewing projects led by local sewing teacher Kerry Davies.

Sewing Club

Work with like minded people or get help from sewing teacher Kerry Davies during Sewing Club.

No experience or materials necessary, but feel free to bring projects along if you have them. Have any left over fabric or thread? Donations are welcome and very much appreciated for Sewing Club!

Sewing Drop In

Drop in to the Falcon FabLab and use the sewing machines or overlocker any Friday between 1-5pm.

English Conversation Classes

Free classes run each week. Everyone is welcome. Come along, practise your English and make some new friends! A different topic will be covered each week.

Games Club

An informal games club where you can play a variety of board games, have a chat and meet like-minded locals. Everyone is welcome.

Chess Knights

Playing and learning chess is a great strategy based game for people of all ages to take part in.

Book Clubs

The Mandurah Libraries collection features over 100 Book Club sets. Each Book Club set includes 10 copies of the book and several book reviews. With fiction and non-fiction titles in a range of genres, there are lots of options to keep any book club busy!

Join one of the book clubs that meet in one of the three library branches or start your own private Book Club! Each Book Club set is borrowed for $25 per book club with a maximum of 10 members per group. Apply today with the Bulk Loan Membership application form

FabLab Makerspace

The FabLab is a makerspace at the Falcon eLibrary and Community Centre where you can learn how to use the 3D printer, sewing machines, electronics and programming or share your skills with others.

Local Creatives

Local Creatives is a series of monthly workshops for creative people in Mandurah. Local businesses run presentations or workshops to teach new skills and provide insight into their experience in the small business industry. Check out the calendar to find the next event!

Writers in the Library

Mandurah Libraries play host to writers all year round. These visits provide an opportunity to interact with favourite authors, find out what makes them tick, and get books signed. Check out the calendar to find the next event!

National Simultaneous Storytime

Every year during May a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian, is read simultaneously across the country. Get involved by attending an event at one of the Mandurah Libraries!

Book Week

Each year people across Australia celebrate Book Week in August. You can celebrate reading and find out the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year winners. The Mandurah Libraries host a range of events.

Intergenerational events

ACP Printmakers

The ACP Printmakers meet around 1pm every Tuesday at the CASM workshop. All forms of printmaking are welcome and recent work has included screen printing, linocut, low toxic etching, collographs and coffee drinking.  Contact Stephne Sands 0439 179 930 or arts_culture_peel@outlook.com.

Still life and portrait group (SLAPGOM)

Currently at capacity and not accepting new members. Meets at the CASM workshop Thursdays 6:30pm-10pm. 

Random Palette

A mixed media group of artists who meet to share their passion for art. Currently at capacity and not accepting new members. Meets at the CASM workshop Fridays.

Sketchers

Are you in need a few technology tips? Come along and have your questions answered in the Technology Tea for Seniors sessions!

Join the libraries tech-savvy staff for some morning tea and advice about technology. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experts, with tech ranging from computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones and downloading library eBooks, eAudio books and downloadable magazines.

Please make sure to bring in your own devices and we will talk about all things tech.

Sessions are:

Disc Golf is a free and fun activity for people of all ages and abilities. Bring your friends and family down to Hall Park on the Western Foreshore and enjoy a round of Disc Golf on the nine basket course. Disc Golf is a great team building activity for the workplace

Sporting games and groups for adults at the MARC

Futsal is an abbreviation of futebol de salão in Portuguese or futsala in Spanish which translates to big room soccer.

  • It is a variant of football, played on an indoor hard court between two teams of five
  • The game ball is smaller and heavier than a normal football, reducing bounce
  • There are unlimited substitutions allowing more play time for everyone in the team, and with limited space on the smaller court, you'll always be in the middle of the action!

Mixed Social Futsal Competition Dates

Games times vary between 6:15pm and 9:45pm.

Netball is played by two teams of seven and is one of the most popular sports in Australia

Competitions are fun, social, and suitable for experienced netballers through to beginners and those looking to re-join the game.
