The Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre is encouraging the local community to get moving by participating in the Let's Move for a Better World campaign.
The global campaign was first launched in 2014 to fight obesity and sedentary lifestyles.
Locally, the campaign aims to engage members and visitors to the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre to donate their physical activity to help the local community embrace a healthier lifestyle.
To get started, participants need to download the My Wellness app then simply swipe and track their moves from March 13 to 31. All members and guests training on Technogym equipment in the recently opened MARC gym can donate their 'moves' to the campaign.
Each move donated will bring the MARC one step closer to winning fitness equipment for local charity Interchange.
Mayor Marina Vergone said the Let's Move for a Better World campaign was a fun way to get moving and provides an opportunity to support a local charity.
“The health and wellness benefits of exercise is well understood but sometimes with our busy lifestyles we need an extra push in the right direction,” she said.
“This campaign provides a fun way to get healthy and support local charity Interchange.”
