The Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest 2019 promises to be the biggest and best yet. And today the festival and the City of Mandurah gained a boost with Seven West Media coming on board as major media partner and Channel Seven naming rights sponsor for this iconic event.
In 2018 the event drew over 100,000 to Mandurah. Ten percent of these came from overseas.
“This is an exciting time for us as we partner with the largest media organisation in WA,” said Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams.
“The commitment Channel Seven have shown to this event, will give us the opportunity to showcase our great City both in Perth as well as the Eastern States via national programming.
“We have a long association with Channel Seven and look forward to working with them for the next three years to position the Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest as a must visit food and wine event,” the Mayor said.
“This event is just one of the many special events and festivals that Mandurah hosts including Wearable Art Mandurah.
“Not only do these events bring colour and pride to our city, but they are also important contributors to supporting local business and therefore jobs for our young people.
“Last year 145 local businesses were involved and the event generated an $8.258 million economic contribution,” the Mayor said.
Seven West Media Chief Marketing Officer Kate Molinari said they were excited to be part of the Crab Fest team.
“Building on a very successful 18 year partnership, we are thrilled to be a part of taking the Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest to a new level from 2019,” said Ms Molinari.
“The Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest has a very special place in the heart of Seven West Media as we recognise the importance and the value that the City of Mandurah brings to the wider community of WA, not only on the event weekend but all year long”, she said.
Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest 2019 will be held on March 16 and 17.
