WA Youth Award for Mandurah

Mandurah’s Jessica Vati has been recognised as the 2018 Most Outstanding Youth Worker Award.  The WA Youth Awards were held on Friday, 12 October at the State Theatre Centre in Perth.

The awards a partnership between the Department of Communities and the Youth Affairs Council of WA, celebrate the achievements and contributions of young Western Australians and groups that support WA youth.  The awards were established in 1999 to recognise people aged 12 to 25 years old.

Jessica has worked with the Street Net Youth Service in Mandurah for nine years, and has been involed in the youth sector for almost two decades.

Jessica was instrumental in bringing the Nighthoops Basketball program to Mandurah and Pinjarra.  She is passionate about supporting Indigenous culture and has been actively involved in getting camps for indigenous young people in care reinstated.
