This workshop supports artists to develop clear, professional written materials that are required for applications, opportunities, and online presence. Professional arts writing provides the foundation for pricing, marketing, and industry engagement.

Please note: Participants are encouraged to bring a fully charged laptop so they can work in real time on the supplied documents and templates during the workshop. Printed copies will also be available for those who prefer to work by hand.

Meet the Facilitator

ArtSupport Australia is a professional development initiative supporting artists, arts workers, and arts businesses to build sustainable, long-term careers in the arts. The initiative delivers workshops and learning programs focused on professional skills, business development, and navigating the arts sector.

Founded by Sophia D’Urso, ArtSupport draws on over ten years of experience working across galleries, festivals, art fairs, local government, and live performance venues within the Australian arts sector. This experience informs workshop delivery and refl ects both artist-led practice and institutional contexts, including the realities faced by artists working independently, regionally, or through non-traditional pathways.

Sophia D’Urso facilitates professional development workshops informed by direct industry experience and ongoing work with artists across disciplines and career stages. Her facilitation approach is structured and discussion-led, combining clear frameworks, guided activities, and time for questions. Sessions prioritise practical application and shared learning.
