About the event
Celebrate Families Week 2026 with a meaningful outdoor adventure designed to bring families together in nature. Join Off The Beaten Track WA for a private guided family hike through the beautiful Mariner’s Cove Trail, set within the Creery Wetlands Nature Reserve – one of Mandurah’s most peaceful and wildlife-rich environments.
This relaxed 2-hour experience is designed for families of all ages and abilities. With flat, easy-to-walk paths and plenty to see along the way, it’s the perfect opportunity to step away from screens, enjoy fresh air, and reconnect with each other. Led by experienced and friendly guides, the hike combines gentle movement with engaging storytelling and interactive moments for children. Along the trail, you’ll discover local wildlife, including migratory shorebirds and native species, while learning about the unique ecosystems that make this area so special.
Families will wander across scenic boardwalks overlooking the Peel Inlet, visit a bird hide and viewing platform, and take part in simple mindfulness activities designed to help you slow down, notice your surroundings and truly connect with nature. Plus, we will visit the one of the Mandurah Giants – Thomas Dambo’s incredible outdoor sculpture. And to round out the experience you will enjoy a relaxed shared morning tea in a beautiful outdoor setting.
This event is more than just a walk – it’s an opportunity to:
• Spend quality time together as a family
• Support mental wellbeing through nature connection
• Encourage healthy, active lifestyles
• Meet other local families in a welcoming environment
• Experience one of Mandurah’s hidden natural gems
This hiking experience is presented in partnership with the City of Mandurah and Act, Belong, Commit.
