Have your say on Lakelands Youth Park concept plans

The next stage of planning for the proposed Lakelands Youth Park has arrived, with the community now invited to review the concept plan and provide feedback.

Local residents, young people, skaters, riders and families were invited to share their ideas through a range of engagement opportunities earlier this year, including pop-up consultation sessions held at Mandurah and Falcon skate parks.

Feedback gathered during these activities helped identify the types of experiences, facilities and features the community would like to see included in the space. Some of the items included in the plans thanks to local feedback include:

• Designed based on hybrid and bowl terrains, the two most popular choices during community sessions
• Box jump and spine obstacles included after being the most requested

The City is delivering the youth park in response to growing demand for youth-focused recreation spaces in Mandurah's northern suburbs.

Located within Lakelands Park, the youth park will provide a dedicated space for young people to skate, ride, connect, relax and express themselves in a safe and welcoming environment.

As Lakelands, Madora Bay and surrounding areas continue to grow, the need for spaces that support the wellbeing, recreation and social connection of young people is increasing. The future youth park will be a destination designed specifically for local young people while contributing to a more active, connected and vibrant community.
