Have Your Say on the Harold Thompson Park Car Park Renewal

The City is planning to renew the Harold Thompson Park car park and is inviting people who use the area to have their say on the draft design.

Improving the Car Park
The car park is due for renewal, and the City has developed a draft design to make it safer, easier to use and better suited to community needs.

The draft design includes changes to the car park surface and parking layout, as well as improvements to accessibility, pedestrian access, safety and overall functionality.

Before the design is finalised, the City wants to hear from the people who know and use the area.

Feedback will help us understand how people currently use the car park, when they visit and any challenges they experience.

We are also interested in understanding why some visitors park on nearby verges rather than in designated parking spaces. Knowing why this happens will help the City consider how informal verge parking could be addressed as the design is refined.

Have Your Say
There are several ways to share your feedback:

  • complete the short online survey.
  • come and talk to us at the community drop-in session on Thursday 12 November, 4.00pm - 6.00pm at Harold Thompson Park Car Park.
  • complete a written survey available from City libraries.

Consultation closes at 5pm on Monday, 30 November 2026.

What Happens Next
After consultation closes, the City will review the feedback about how the car park is currently used and the proposed improvements.

Your feedback will help inform the final design and identify any changes that may be needed before it is finalised.

The City will continue to provide project updates as the project progresses on our Mandurah Matters page.
