Road open: Pinjarra Road Stage 7 works complete

Stage 7 upgrades to Pinjarra Road have now been completed, delivering a smoother and safer drive around the Anstruther Road intersection.

Works officially wrapped up on Friday, 10 April, with careful staging of works and periods of nightworks driving the project to finish almost two months ahead of schedule.

The upgrades focused on improving safety, traffic flow, quality, and longevity of the road surface to ensure maintenance works would not be required for years to come.

What these works achieved

Road upgrades aren’t always easy to spot for the naked eye, but these Stage 7 works delivered plenty of improvements to one of Mandurah’s busiest roads, including:

  • Reconstruction and resurfacing of the road to improve durability and ride quality
  • Installation of new asphalt to provide a smoother final driving surface
  • Upgraded traffic signals, including new infrastructure, cabling and right-turn movements to improve safety and efficiency
  • Construction of new concrete kerbing and road edges
  • Installation of new footpaths, pram ramps and crossovers to improve accessibility for pedestrians and families
  • Line marking, surface treatments and traffic signal loop modifications to support safer road use

Upgrades to the traffic light system were made possible through the Australian Government Black Spot Program.

These works build on earlier stages of the broader Pinjarra Road upgrade program, continuing improvements along this key route through Mandurah.

Delivering the project

Construction commenced in late 2025 and was originally scheduled for completion in June 2026. Through careful staging of works, the project has now been delivered ahead of that timeline.

We understand roadworks like these can cause disruptions for our community and businesses. Thank you for your patience and understanding while this important project was completed.

Looking ahead

With Stage 7 now complete, the upgraded section of Pinjarra Road will provide a safer, more efficient and more accessible road environment for all users, supporting continued growth in Mandurah and the surrounding Peel region.

The next stage of works will focus on improving the area near the Sholl / Leslie Street intersection, following completion of all necessary service enabling works in the coming financial years.
