Teachers and schools – get involved in Kids Teaching Kids
Kids Teaching Kids is a peer-to-peer learning program that empowers students to take on the role of educators, encouraging them to explore environmental topics, develop their presentation skills, and engage in hands-on activities that make learning both fun and impactful.
This year's theme ‘From Seeds to Solutions’ transforms curiosity into environmental solutions that make a real difference in our community.
The event will be held on Friday, 6 November 2026 at John Tonkin College. Primary, secondary, and home schools across the Mandurah and Peel region can get involved in two ways:
- Presenting group – students lead their own workshop, sharing environmental ideas, solutions, and hands-on activities with their peers. Presenters take on the role of teachers, explaining concepts, guiding discussions, and inspiring others through creativity, teamwork, and real-world problem solving.
- Audience – students participate in workshops led by their peers. They will learn new environmental ideas, engage in practical activities, ask questions, and explore solutions together. Audience groups play an active role by contributing their thinking and supporting a collaborative learning environment.
By participating, students not only enhance their understanding of environmental issues but also inspire others to take action and make a difference.
Kids Teaching Kids is an Earthwatch Australia initiative hosted by John Tonkin College and supported by the City of Mandurah.
