The Mandurah WayFairer Project captures the grossly underutilised knowledge, skills, experience, interests and talents amongst adults aged 50 + (WayFairers), supporting them to repurpose these attributes into the local community while building the capacity of their local community organisation and sharing their wealth of knowledge.

The Mandurah WayFairer Project is a 5 year partnership project by the City of Mandurah and Inclusion Solutions which will see participating community members aged 50+ (The Wayfairer’s) connected with valued volunteer roles in the community based on their individual talents and interests. It will also give local clubs and groups the chance to increase their volunteer bases and assess the gaps and needs of their organisation.

Due to current COVID-19 concerns and advice, the second Mandurah WayFairer Workshops will now be delivered online. There were four successful sessions in April and more dates to come for May with further communications about dates to come in the coming weeks.

If you are a senior living in Mandurah and would like to become a WayFairer and get involved, please contact info@inclusionsolutions.org.au or 94437226 or Pippa at the City of Mandurah on pippa.gauden@mandurah.wa.gov.au or 9550 3881.

The official Mandurah WayFairers Project launch took place in November 2019 and it was a HUGE success! Over 50 local clubs and groups have now completed the needs assessment and have identified a variety of interesting volunteer roles for our WayFairers.

We have just completed a series of online “Knowledge Mapping” workshops with the last taking place on Thursday the 30th of April. These workshops explored our WayFairers individual interests, skills and talents in preparation to link them up for the most suitable volunteer positions for them.

More workshops are being planned for May and June with further information to follow soon.
