We have heaps of free and low cost programs on offer during school terms and holidays for all ages.

Try new things, learn new skills, get crafty, and build friendships. Your kids can do it all.

Activities are separated into three age groups; 0-4, 5-11 & 12-17, suit a range of interests and skills and are hosted by different teams throughout the City of Mandurah including Youth Development, Mandurah Libraries, Mandurah Recreation Centres and the Mandurah Community Museum.

How to Book:

  1. Use the events calendar age filter to explore activities that are scheduled for your kids age/s
  2. Navigate to and click the web event activity you would like to book
  3. Select the 'Booking Email' button or 'Make a Booking' button if bookings are applicable
  4. Once a team member has received your booking request, they will get in contact to confirm

Rhymetime

Rhymetime is a fun way to share action rhymes, finger plays, songs and stories which help build language and literacy skills. Rhymetime is aimed at 0 - 2 year olds, but all children are welcome.

Storytime

Storytime is held in the library to introduce toddlers and pre-schoolers to the joys of reading. Each session is followed by simple craft activities.

Learning with Storytime

These sessions focus on developing early literacy skills through stories, rhymes and craft activities.

STEAM For Toddlers

Children can engage, explore, discover and learn through STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths. STEAM is a way of learning through play that encourages children to question and talk about the world around them.

Reading Challenge

Join our Reading Challenge to help in your child’s early literacy development and collect prizes along the way! This challenge is for children aged 0-5. Collect a reading log from a Mandurah Libraries branch.

Every year during May a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian, is read simultaneously across the country. Get involved by attending an event at one of the Mandurah Libraries!

Action Tots (45 minute Class)**

Experience the fun and excitement with your child as they move through our obstacle course whilst learning about early childhood development. Your child will swing, climb, tumble, roll, balance, dance and meet new friends with you by their side.

Age 1-3 years - Tuesdays and Fridays 9.45am

Age 2-4 years - Tuesdays and Fridays 10.35am

Pre-K Kids (1 hour 15 minute class)**

Your child will learn skills that are essential for school readiness through movement, exploration, songs and bubbles. Kids will have fun with our obstacle course, team games and sports interaction. Bring along one small fruit snack and water bottle. Children are to be toilet trained, or wearing pull-ups for the duration of the class. 

Age 3-5 years - Tuesdays 11.30am

Tots Gymnastics (45 minute class) **

In this fun, recreational gymnastics class, children are encouraged to creatively explore movement through balancing, climbing, strengthening activities, gross motor skills, rolling, tumbling and much more. Your child will learn new skills in a structured, multi-sensory environment.  

Age 2.5-5 years - Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:45am and 10.35am

Cost: $92.00

 Recreational Gymnastics (45 minute class) **

This fun recreational gymnastics class is designed to build self-esteem and confidence in each individual child. This program is designed by setting up achievable challenges in a fun gymnastics circuit style class.

Beginners class for those brand new to gymnastics:

Lego club

Let your imagination go wild and join the Lego Club. For children 5 years and older, the Lego Club encourages creativity, fine motor skills, problem solving and social skills.

Homework help

Homework Help is a free  program held each week during school term for students in grades 1-12. Homework Help gives students the opportunity to ask questions, access library resources and get the support they need. Feel free to drop in at any time during the Homework Help hour.

STEAM imagineers

In this free program students aged 7-17 will explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, art, and maths - STEAM. STEAM is a way of learning across subjects that encourages students to question and talk about the world around them. Students will work together to problem solve, be creative, and explore STEAM.

Coder Dojo

The CoderDojo is a free, casual coding club for ‘Ninjas’ aged 7 - 17 years in the FabLab. Mentors provide help, and Ninjas can meet like-minded people, making learning to code a fun and sociable experience. These are fun, open-ended sessions which can include presentations, workshops and games, and free time to work on your own projects. Bring your own laptop or use one of the FabLab computers.

Chess Knights

Playing and learning chess is a great strategy based game for people of all ages to take part in.

Work experience

Need to gain some experience in the work force? Mandurah Libraries offer work experience for students in Year 10 to Year 12, and TAFE students. Work placement positions are available for students in Year 11 and 12. Learn more about work experience opportunities across the City.

FabLab makerspace

The FabLab is a makerspace at the Falcon eLibrary and Community Centre where you can learn how to use the 3D printer, sewing machines, electronics and programming or share your skills with others.

Local creatives

Local Creatives is a series of monthly workshops for creative people in Mandurah. Local businesses run presentations or workshops to teach new skills and provide insight into their experience in the small business industry.

Writers in the library

Mandurah Libraries play host to writers all year round. These visits provide an opportunity to interact with favourite authors, find out what makes them tick, and get books signed.

Accessing RecOnline is easy, but first, you need to set up a password.

You need to have a current active email address registered with us to log in to RecOnline. 

If you receive emails from us occasionally, that's the email we have in our system and the email you should use to sign in to RecOnline.

If you have not given us an email address before, or you're not sure what email you used, please call us on 9550 3600, one of our friendly customer service staff would be happy to help.

How to set up your password

  1. Visit the RecOnline Log In page

  2. Click 'Forgot Username/Password?'

  3. Enter your email address

  4. Click 'Retrieve Password'. This will send a Forgot Password Request to your email

  5. Open the email and click on the link to reset your password

  6. Choose a new password

  7. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and click continue

  8. Choose the location you wish to log in to, Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre or Halls Head.
    Note: Choosing which centre you wish to visit will be important when booking into group fitness classes. The group fitness timetable will only be available to book classes for the centre you have chosen to log into. You can easily change centres once in RecOnline by going to the home page and selecting “change locations”

  9. Click continue log in.

You should now be logged in to RecOnline! If you have any issues setting up your password, please contact us or visit us in centre, we'd be happy to help you through the process.

Disc Golf is a free and fun activity for people of all ages and abilities. Bring your friends and family down to Hall Park on the Western Foreshore and enjoy a round of Disc Golf on the nine basket course. Disc Golf is a great team building activity for the workplace

Group bookings of over 20 people require a booking. Bookings can be made through Recreation Services by phone 9550 3601 or email.

Sporting games and groups for kids at the MARC

Futsal is an abbreviation of futebol de salão in Portuguese or futsala in Spanish which translates to big room soccer.

  • It is a variant of football, played on an indoor hard court between two teams with five players each
  • The game ball is smaller and heavier than a normal football, reducing bounce
  • There are unlimited substitutions allowing more play time for everyone in the team, and with limited space on the smaller court, you'll always be in the middle of the action!

Teen Futsal Competition Dates

Game times vary, commencing from 6.15pm and run for two 17 minute halves. Teen Futsal is commences in Term 4 of this year.

Social competition coming term 4, 2020.

What else do you need to know?

  • Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle
  • No studs, sports shoes only
  • Bibs supplied (if required)
  • Competition may be split into divisions, depending on number of teams
  • $320 per team per season

Junior Water Polo is a modified version of Water Polo for those in school grades 7-10.

Water polo is an international team sport played in the water between two teams of seven. Teams attempt to score goals by throwing the game ball into the opposing team's goal.

Water Polo is a fantastic summer sport, and you do not need to be a swimming champion to join in. We encourage participation in a fun, team building and learning environment

Junior League Rules do apply, and play is in the deep end of the pool. Rough play is not tolerated in Junior Water Polo.

The main aim is participation, fun and learning the basics before moving on to Senior Water Polo.

Grades: social for school grades 7 - 19
