Who is it for? We are seeking passionate young people of all backgrounds and abilities, aged 15-24 living in the City of Mandurah.

Tell me more! The Mandurah Youth Advisory Group is an opportunity for young people to meet and discuss relevant youth issues in Mandurah, plan and deliver youth events and communicate, collaborate and liaise with the City of Mandurah Council.

But when? The group will meet every month or two on a Wednesday 4-6pm. Dates will be confirmed on selection. There will be an opportunity to nominate for working groups within the group, to work on projects within the community based on what the group is passionate about. This will likely require meeting more often.

Making Waves Mandurah Youth Forum 2018

On Monday 26th March 2018, students from every high school in Mandurah along with young people aged 18-25, got together to give their perspective about life in the City. Organised and facilitated by the Youth Leadership Group, young people aged 15-24, the day included:

  • Inspiring speakers from different backgrounds, such as Greg Hire, Vice-Captain of Perth Wildcats and a Youth Focus Ambassador
  • Service provider expo of key local youth services available for young people. Digging deep into the key challenges faced by young people and brainstorming potential solutions.
  • Round table discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Lots of fun, free giveaways and lunch!

The ideas contribute to shaping the City of Mandurah’s Youth Strategy for 2018-2023 –thanks to everyone who participated and had their say!

Beats Under the Bridge Summer Youth Festival

Following on from the above Youth Forum, the Youth Leadership Group learnt that young people in Mandurah were wanting more youth events in Mandurah. So they created the Beats Under the Bridge Summer Youth Festival! Now in its second year running, over 600 young people have attended the event. The day included:
  • Music from Ugly DJ Co
  • Inflatables
  • Basketball, volleyball and heaps of other activities
  • Photo Booth
  • A heaps of freebies!
