City of Mandurah COVID-19 Update: Restrictions significantly ease

Restrictions will ease in Perth and Peel as planned from 12.01am, Saturday 8 May, subject to no further outbreaks. These restrictions remain in place until 12.01am, Saturday 15 May.  

The following will take effect from this time:

  • Masks are only required on public transport, at events of more than 1000 people, when entering a hospital, aged care or disability facility.
  • Students are no longer required to wear masks.
  • No masks are required in gyms, or at work.
  • 100 visitors allowed to your home.
  • Only 4 visitors allowed to hospital, aged care or disability facility, at a time.
  • Vaccination is encouraged.
  • Night clubs and casino can operate, with the 2m2 distancing rule applied.

Anyone who has been in Perth or Peel in the previous 14 days but has since travelled to another region must also wear a mask, subject to the above conditions.

Please note that masks must still be worn at all times until 12.01am Saturday 8 May. Prior to and after Saturday, people must continue checking-in using SafeWA or a sign-in register.

Facilities Status

We will provide updates as operational details are finalised. Below details are in conjunction with ease of restrictions effective from Saturday 8 May:

  • Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre - From Saturday 8 May 12.01am, customers will no longer need to wear masks whilst visiting the MARC. Wellness Centre (spa and sauna) will re-open to members. MARC and Halls Head Rec Centre sports competitions will resume (including netball, futsal and Man vs Fat) from Monday 10 May. Check-in with SafeWA or sign-in requirements still apply.  More details.
  • City of Mandurah libraries - Mandurah, Falcon and Lakelands Libraries open and will follow normal opening times. All programs have resumed.
  • Seniors and Community Centre - All programs, activities and events will resume. More details.
  • Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah - will remain closed for the bumping out of the Masterpieces exhibition and the installation of the Transitions exhibition which is due to open on 8 May.
  • Mandurah Community Museum - the Museum will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday (7-9 May). Re-opening date with regular hours to be advised.
  • Billy Dower Youth Centre - Open with most programs running (please check the Youth Facebook page for latest). More details.
  • Administration Building - open to in-person enquiries at regular opening hours with sign-in requirements from Monday 10 May.
  • Mandurah Waste Management Centre - regular residential bin and verge collection schedules. Facility open.
  • Community halls and indoor hireable spaces - normal capacity. Masks required until Saturday 8 May.
  • Training and sports grounds - community sport with spectators. Face mask requirements until 8 May.
  • Playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor fitness equipment - normal operating conditions.

Until Saturday 8 May, masks must be worn when you leave your home. Exemptions apply including for medical reasons and primary school aged children or younger. People should use common sense and take a mask with them whenever they leave home. Other COVID safe protective measures, such as hand hygiene, staying home when unwell and physical distancing remain essential measures.


You are legally required to sign in at all City facilities using the SafeWA app or sign the contact register.

What you can and can't do

Bin collection

Your bins will be collected as normal during the transition period. Please put your bins out on your verge by 6am on your normal bin day.
