Take the opportunity this month to meet with eight of Mandurah’s local emerging artists in their ‘open studios’ situated within the gallery area of Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah (CASM).
Audiences will be able to talk with each artist, watch them at work and potentially purchase newly created artworks.
In its fourth year, the CASM Open Studio Collective program has been a primary influence in delivering a working studio experience for emerging artists.
Since its inception in 2015, 24 local artists have taken part in the month long program. Eight artists have since taken on longer term residencies at CASM. The residency program allows artists to consolidate their arts practice over the course of a year culminating in the presentation of a solo exhibition.
This year’s collective artists include Noela O’Keefe, Anthea Fitzhardinge, Chelsea Turner and popular artist group the Tiny Shops on Wheels featuring Denise Fisher, Lisa Wray, Elli Moody, Hill Coufreur and Karen Morgan.
Visitors to the gallery will be able to view drawing, painting, ceramics, resin craft, jewellery making and contemporary textiles.
A free artist talk will be presented on Sunday, 20 January at 12:30pm. The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm. For more information visit www.artspacesmandurah.com.au.
