To acknowledge and celebrate Reconciliation Week the City will be holding a morning tea on Monday, 27 May at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.
Recipients of the 2019 Student Aspiration Incentive Program (SAIP) will be recognised at the event. The SAIP is an initiative of the City’s Reconciliation Action Plan to build the aspirations and develop the potential of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from Mandurah’s public high schools. SAIP is now in its 7th year and has supported over 40 local Aboriginal students since its inception.
A community led event, The Walk for Reconciliation will also be held on Wednesday, 29 May. The walk will involve students from 9 local schools along the Eastern Foreshore and include stories, songs and dancing, finishing up with a sausage sizzle thanks to the Lions Club of Mandurah.
