Upgrades to Pinjarra Road are taking shape, with some important works completed over the past fortnight and some key milestones not far away.

Completed works

Installation of the road base layer for the westbound lanes was completed recently, including final trimming, compacting and testing.

Sealing works for the westbound lanes and the installation of an island and roadside kerbing have also been completed.

These are significant steps forward for the project.

Upcoming works

The next two weeks will see a heavy focus placed on preparing and pouring concrete footpaths in the area, as well as pram ramps, bus stops and driveway crossovers.

Brick paving of the island medians will also be carried out.

These are integral pieces of infrastructure and will create a smoother experience for pedestrians and public transport accessing the area.

Laying of asphalt

One important milestone to keep an eye out for will be the laying of asphalt, scheduled to be carried out at the end of May. An exact date for these works will be confirmed soon.

City of Mandurah staff will be consulting with businesses in advance of these works, to minimise the impact and arrange alternate access.
