A brand-new youth space is set to deliver more opportunities for Mandurah’s young people to connect, unwind, and get active, with the first stages of the Lakelands Youth Park project kicking off in the coming weeks.
Located next to local schools and the Lakelands Shopping Centre, the new park will include a district-level skate and BMX facility along with spaces designed for connection, relaxation and self-expression.
Importantly, this project will be shaped by the community and those who will use it most. The consultation phase will open in the coming weeks, with local young people and families invited to share their ideas and help design the park.
Lakelands and surrounding suburbs continue to experience significant growth, with the local population expected to increase substantially in the years ahead. As the community evolves, it is important that local infrastructure keeps pace.
The Lakelands Youth Park represents an investment in the wellbeing and lifestyle of young people, providing a safe, purpose-built environment where they can build skills, stay active and connect with others close to home.
The location has been carefully chosen to ensure the space is accessible and well-integrated into the daily lives of local families. It will also help activate the wider open space, contributing to a more vibrant and inclusive community hub.
