Futsal is an abreviation of futebol de sal√£o in Portuguese or futsala in Spanish which translates to big room soccer.

It is a variant of football, played on an indoor hard court between two teams with 5 players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper who can join in with play.

Futsal is played on the indoor hard courts (about the size of a netball court) surrounded by boundary lines, with a ball smaller and heavier than a normal football. The ball's reduced bounce forces players to use their skill to control and hold on to the ball rather than the ball's bounce to push it forward.

There are unlimited substitutions allowing more play time for everyone in the team, and with limited space on the small court, you'll be in middle of the action always.
