Making Waves: Youth Leadership Group

Are you aged 14-25? Want to get involved in your community, and bring youth events to Mandurah? The City of Mandurah are seeking passionate young people to join the Making Waves Youth Leadership Group.

After completing the impressive Youth Forum project (see highlights below) the group are now planning a summer youth festival for January 2019. But they need some more members to make this happen! Spaces are limited, so register your interest today.

Making Waves Mandurah Youth Forum 2018

On Monday 26th March 2018, students from every high school in Mandurah along with young people aged 18-25, got together to give their perspective about life in the City. Organised and facilitated by the Youth Leadership Group, the day included:

  • Inspiring speakers from different backgrounds, such as Greg Hire, Vice-Captain of Perth Wildcats and a Youth Focus Ambassador
  • Service provider expo of key local youth services available for young people. Digging deep into the key challenges faced by young people and brainstorming potential solutions.
  • Round table discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Lots of fun, free giveaways and lunch!

The ideas contribute to shaping the City of Mandurah’s Youth Strategy for 2018-2023 –thanks to everyone who participated and had their say!
