by Paul Fleetham

CASM presents award winning Mandurah artist Paul Fleetham in his first solo exhibition Pixelism featuring selected prints and projection of his vast collection of digital artworks.

Initially interested in pursuing architecture as a career, changing countries at age 17 led Paul into an education in graphic design instead. The course allowed for Paul’s creative expression to develop, where the photography units became the most important to him at that time.

Night classes in Screen Printing with WA Artist Brian McKay, who was pivotal in encouraging Paul to study Fine Art at Edith Cowan University from 1989 – 1991, majoring in painting and drawing.

“I love, the freedom to explore down whatever path the ART wants to go. The style is then not the most important aspect of art making to me. There is only creativity and different ways of expressing it. So while I consider myself to be predominantly a Digital artist who uses a computer and graphic programs to create with, I usually call myself a Pixelist, which I think this has a softer edge to it and is a better fit.”
