Talkin and Walkin with George Walley

Mature Walking Group

Talkin’ & Walkin’ with George Walley

Are you interested in joining a social walking group for people aged 55 – 100 years to maintain a healthy lifestyle and connect with your neighbours?

We meet by the river, every Thursday at 9.30am, and walk part of or all of the 3km Joseph and Dulcie Nannup trail that runs along the Serpentine River, Greenfields.

On Thursday June 6 George Walley from Mandjoogoordap Dreaming will be providing a cultural knowledge tour along this trail.  This walk is an opportunity for our local community to learn about the region’s First People and the pivotal role the waterways played in their lives for thousands of years.  Along the way discover little known places of interest and the cultural stories connected to them.

Binjareb Elder Uncle Harry Nannup will join us and share stories from his family that use to live in bush camps along the river.

Meet us by the river and learn more about our community and our social walking group.

•            Thursday, 6 June 2019 at the Wanda Road Boatramp, Greenfields.
