City funding boost for Stretch projects

Friday, 24 November 2017

$15,000 is up for grabs to help local artists and creatives deliver exciting and unique projects at next year’s Stretch Arts Festival.

Applications are now open for the Stretch Arts Festival Grants program which has been designed to develop and nurture the skills of the local community.

Projects are encouraged to enhance social well-being and encourage participation, engage in community partnerships, develop contemporary artistic practices, and express local culture and identity.

Artists can apply for up to $2000 for each project and applications close December 15.

Successful applications will then come to life in April and May 2018 as part of the City of Mandurah’s premier arts events, the Stretch Arts Festival.

The Stretch Arts Festival is Mandurah’s premier arts and cultural event, offering a vast number of projects, events, performances, workshops, cultural experiences, high quality arts experiences and learning opportunities. The City of Mandurah engages with local businesses, schools, various city venues and community organisations to capture, delight and engage with a wide and diverse audience.

The 2018 festival weekend will be held on May 5 and 6.
