Following a full recruitment process, Ms Jones was selected from a competitive field of applicants as the City of Mandurah, Manager of Governance Services, commencing 8 July 2019.

Ms Jones was elected to the Coastal Ward in October 2015 and has actively contributed to the local community during this time and served on a number of groups, including:

"It takes courage and dedication to step up as Councillor and Tahlia has done a fantastic job in representing her Ward and the broader Mandurah community.

"While we will miss Tahlia’s contribution as a Councillor, I am pleased that Mandurah will continue to benefit from her knowledge, expertise and professionalism," Mr Williams said.

Ms Jones said she was proud of her contribution to Council and the outcomes she has delivered for the residents of Mandurah and is looking forward to taking on her position with the City.

Her career has spanned both private and public sectors, with over 12 years’ experience in delivering outcomes in policy, corporate services and community engagement.

Ms Jones’ term of office was due to end in October, so Council has asked the Electoral Commissioner to allow the position to remain unfilled until the Local Government Election on 19 October 2019.
