About the Event

Mandurah textile artist Deidre Robb (@deidrerobbmakesthings on Instagram) hosts monthly Mending with Company sessions. Participants gather to hand mend their own garments, promote sustainable clothing choices, share skills, and enjoy each other’s company.

She is hosting a session at CASM on Sunday 17 March from 10am -12noon.

Bring your mending pile and repair your clothes with company, or simply bring yourself and Deidre will teach you some basic hand-stitch mending techniques on a small sampler. You are welcome to stay and stitch for as little or as long as you like.

These sessions have grown out of the international Street Stitching movement which is an act of gentle disruption demonstrating the pleasure and necessity of garment repair.
