About the Event
Join us for the grand opening of the Dawesville Community Centre! You’re invited to celebrate the launch of this amazing new facility with a morning filled with fun and activities.
Explore what our newest community hub has to offer you and enjoy the entertainment.
Come along for:

- Playgroup for young children
- Interactive art activities
- Gaming station and drop-in space
The Paint Mandjoogoordap REaD literacy program will also be available on the day, encouraging kids to explore the magic of reading.
Art exhibition
Part of our celebrations will include shining the light on Dawesville’s talented local artists, with a special exhibition kicking off the day after the opening event.
The exhibition will open on Sunday, 31 August, and run through to Friday, 19 September. Opening hours during this time will be 10am-2pm Monday to Friday (the exhibition will also be available as part of the Centre's grand opening event).
The showcase will feature a people’s choice award, with the public invited to vote for their favourite artwork. The winner will be announced on Monday, 22 September.

Morning tea will be available and a coffee van will be on site.

Parking and access
Parking will be available at the Florida shops next to the Dawesville Community Centre.
The construction of the Dawesville Community Centre was funded by a $2.65 million Lotterywest grant and a $6.2 million financial contribution from the State Government, with the City of Mandurah managing the project and the future operations of the facility.
